Since the first day of school back in September a group of Moms have gathered at our farm. We have coffee, sweet treats and some sort of breakfast. The ladies had so much fun the first time it became a weekly event. Now it has evolved into a therapy session and some Moms really look forward to it. Through its evolution we have supported the local teachers by providing an espresso bar at school during an appreciation day. Now we are reaching out to the community to try to promote local farming. The group is hosting a community egg hunt for the children of the area. It has also grown.
Just this week we decided we needed a name for ourselves. With all the community enrichment we are trying to make happen Mommy morning group just didn't quite have the pizazz. The group of ladies in the group are quite the cooks and like to bake. We decided to call ourselves the Bacon Beauties. This has more than one meaning. We like to bake and we raise purebred Berkshire pigs. Plus our first annual egg hunt will be approaching quickly and we will need Eggs with our Bacon.
I personally love the irony of the name. There so much we can do. Our promotional statement is feed the soil and the community. Grow and buy local.
We meet every Tuesday. Please stay tuned each week for a brief overview as to what happens.

We visited the North Pole this week and saw Santa. They had just as much fun playing in the snow and swimming in the hotels pool as they did seeing Santa.

Woody attacked one of our ducks and we didnt want it to be dinner so we brought it inside to clean it up. You can see some of the flesh was torn of it's leg. Thanks Woody. You are in so much trouble!
